-- and use a snippet of code to quickly display a beautiful gallery of
images (as seen on the Student Showcase pages.)
Search a sub-section of the college web site (custom search).
A custom search will allow visitors to quickly search a sub-set of the
college web site. For example, an area with a large number of documents
such as the Student Financial Services directory.
Embed a Brightcove video player.
Brightcove is an off-site video conversion and hosting service.
Columbia web developers can upload a Quicktime or AVI movie to the
Brightcove servers, where the file will be converted to Flash (FLV)
format. After adding some HTML code to a Collage page the video can be
viewed in a web browser; the video is streamed from the Brightcove
servers, which provides fast delivery.
Using iTunesU.iTunes U is a free service from Apple, Inc. which allows
Columbia College Chicago to have a public presence in iTunes. This
is an excellent way to share Video (MP4, .mov, videocast) or Audio
(MP3, podcast) with people all over the world, particularly content
that is longer than a few minutes.
