A message from Mark Kelly, Vice President of Student Affairs:

Dear Columbia College Chicago Students,

As the largest arts and media college in the country, Columbia College Chicago is a wonderfully alive and thriving school. Just imagine what takes place in a single day in our classrooms, galleries, performance spaces, libraries, lecture halls, lounges, labs, Student Affairs offices, sidewalks, residence halls, workshops, and studios. Mix these activities into the steady flow of students, faculty, staff, and visitors with their eclectic personalities, backgrounds, visions, and intellectual passions. Blend in the vibrant City of Chicago, and you begin to see the infinite potential that the Columbia experience affords you.

Columbia is also an expansive and complex institution. We have created a student handbook (see below) as a tool to help you navigate and connect to all that Columbia can offer you. It is a compilation of the people, places, and activities that you need to have a fruitful student experience. As you navigate through Columbia, my advice to you is simple:

Be gutsy and take risks.
Get connected and get involved.
Make the Columbia experience a priority.

In closing, all of the Student Affairs staff and I are available to support you in your academic endeavors. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Mark Kelly
Vice President of Student Affairs
