Fall Orientation

Welcome to Columbia College Chicago.  Your next steps are very important. Completing the following checklist will help you transition into the Columbia College community.

Checklist for New Students
    • Begin Planning for Registration.  If you are just looking at this now it means you are late, late, late.  You need to go through the steps and register for some courses.  Because you didn't make it to an Orientation session, you won't have the benifit of someone walking you through the process.  This planning sheet should help you along.
    • If you didn't take the ACT and send in your scores, you may have to take New Student Placement. See FAQs for more information.
    • Take the three minute New Student Survey.
    • Confirm your immunization status.
    • If you plan to live on-campus, make sure that all of your application materials have been submitted.  For more information, please contact Residence Life.
    • If you are applying for financial assistance, verify that all materials have been submitted.  For more information, please contact Student Financial Services.
    • These pages provide information on transferring credits to Columbia. Students who begin their education at one institution and then transfer to Columbia will be able to determine how the courses they have taken will fulfill either Columbia's Liberal Arts and Sciences requirements or in some cases, courses in their chosen major.
