Distinguished Faculty Fellows

In 2006, the Provost’s Office launched a program to recognize the artistic, scholarly, and pedagogical accomplishments of Columbia faculty members by awarding Distinguished Faculty Fellowships in each of these areas.  The members of the first cohort of Fellows are nearing the end of their two-year terms, during which they have each endeavored to make their scholarly inquiry or creative processes visible across departments and disciplines.  As part of their continued efforts, each Fellow will be preparing a presentation, lecture, performance, exhibition, or other event for the campus community.

The Distinguished Faculty Fellowship Lecture Series kicked off on Thursday, March 13th, at 2:00pm with Dr. Stephen Asma’s illustrated presentation, “Monsters in the Christian Tradition” (see poster here).  Be on the lookout for announcements with more information about future lectures!

Descriptions of the Distinguished Faculty Fellowships can be read here and here.
