Pilot Courses for Summer 08 and Fall 08

Pilot to Permanent and Changes to Existing Courses
Pilot Courses are eligible for conversion to permanent status after two semesters of classroom experience, and must be reviewed for permanent status within three years of the original pilot proposal approval. These may be submitted only in Spring for offering in Fall.
Changes to existing (non-pilot courses) – titles, pre-reqs, descriptions, course number, credits – and
Changes to Program Requirements – majors, minors, concentrations.
| 2/15 (or earlier) | Departmental Curriculum Committees submits proposals to Associate Dean and to members of School Curriculum Committee for progressive review. Deadline is 2/15. |
| 2/15-29 | School Curriculum Committee reviews and requests changes if appropriate from departments; delivers proposals under review to Dean with recommendations. |
| 2/25-29 | Associate Deans review for overlap. School Dean approves for permanent status. |
| 3/1 | Program Requirements delivered for sub-audit. |

New Curriculum
Majors, Minors, Certificate and Degree Programs are considered in the Fall Semester, to begin their “Year Zero” in the following academic year.
| 10/22 (or earlier) | Departmental Curriculum Committee prepares academic program proposal with budget. Associate Dean facilitates development of proposal packet materials. Deadline is Oct. 22. |
| 11/16 | School Curriculum Committee reviews for overlap and recommends academic proposal with budget. |
| 12/7 | Proposal sent to Academic Affairs and Budget and Priorities for review. Both committees recommend to College Council as soon as possible and prudent. |
