Fulbright US Student Program

The International Programs office is the advising center for Columbia students interested in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
This program is for graduating seniors, MFA candidates, and recent alumni and does the following:
- Awards grants to U.S. citizens in all fields of study
- Operates in more than 140 countries worldwide
- Awards more than 1,200 grants to U.S. students to study overseas
- Offers one academic year of study, research, or teaching assistantship experience
Projects may include university course work, independent library or field research, or professional training in the arts.
- You could be one of more than 1,400 candidates who receive a Fulbright grant each year to go overseas. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program operates in more than 140 countries worldwide and grants are available in all fields of study. The 08-09 application cycle has closed, as of October 20, 2007. But the next cycle of applications opens on May 1, 2008 with the deadline in late October. For detailed information on your eligibility, awards available, and the application process, watch for announcements of Fulbright Information Sessions to be offered on campus during the spring ‘08 semester.
