Fulbright Scholar Programs

The International Programs office promotes and assists Columbia faculty with the Fulbright Scholar Programs.
The Fulbright Scholar program is offering over 800 awards for lecturing, research or combined lecturing/research in over 130 countries around the world during the 2009-2010 academic year. In addition, many country programs include "All Disciplines" awards open to specialists in any field. You can find details on the new awards, check eligibility guidelines, and download materials at www.cies.org.
The deadline for the traditional Fulbright Scholar program worldwide is August 1, 2008.

Basic Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship;
- Master’s or Ph.D. or equivalent professional or terminal degree depending on award requirements;
- college teaching experience at the level and in the field of the assignment for a proposed lecturing activity. Except in certain world areas and countries;
- English is usually sufficient for lecturing

Opportunities for U.S. institutions to host Fulbright Visiting Scholars and professionals from abroad to lecture at U.S. colleges and universities.
