Apply for Admission
1. Visit us if you can. We offer tours, and a number of events for prospective graduate students.
2. Check deadlines. We only admit for the fall semester. Deadlines vary by department. Please note that it usually takes a minimum of eight to ten weeks after the deadline to receive an admissions decision.
3. Complete the application. You can download the full 16-page application packet here. Following the instructions in the booklet, you'll complete the self-assessment essay, arrange for letters of recommendation (MAT applicants should also submit the supplemental evaluation)and arrange for transcripts from your previous institutions. Visit your department's checklist.

5. Don't forget the $55 application fee. You may send a check or money order to the graduate office or complete the online payment form
If you choose to use the online payment form, please select "Grad Application Fee" and also be sure to include your social security number (if applicable). If possible, you should forward the payment confirmation to the Graduate Office (gradsch@colum.edu). To pay by credit card over the phone, please call 312-344-7260. If you pay by check, money order, or with a credit card over the phone, please note that your payment will not be processed until your application is in the final stages of processing.
Note: Given the nature of our programs, the GRE is not required.
